Rolf Kraehenbuehl is a photographer and visual artist based in the north of Wales.

How does the environment we shape mirror and affect us? How do we see, feel, and show places? How do we make them meaningful to us?

In my practice I start with everyday elements of the environment and the properties of its materials to explore creative visual ideas to represent the cultural landscape, which is created and shaped by us, and which in turn shapes the people inhabiting it.

How do space and place interrelate, how do we turn space into places with personal meaning, and how can we communicate this through photography and visual art? How can we react to the built environment and (re)claim space through different ways of image- and mark-making?
